Using a sharp bird beak knife etch a simple pattern into the apple slice. Soak the apple in water with a few drops of lime juice to avoid discoloration.
These were my 1st attempt in my early days of carving lessons at playing with a bird beak knife and carving a fruit/ vegetable, My knife control was not very good at the time but it still rendered some pretty garnishes.
